Acoustic tiles. The tiles are made up with a sound absorbing acoustic mineral wool core faced with a highly efficient sound absorbing painted surface. The edges of each tile are chamfered so no jointing strips are necessary. Suitable adhesives can adhere these tiles to the ceiling.
References :
http://uk.search.yahoo.com/search?ei=utf-8&fr=slv8-&p=acoustic%20tiles

Don't listen, for the lousy 5 - 15 minutes it takes!
Vacuum, maybe!
You won't hear him and he won't hear you bitching!
Constipation is worse, and being a widow even sadder!

Grow up! Everyone has a right to "Bathroom privileges!"
To each his own!
Edit:
Actually that would be "John Dory"!
Then again, Snakes don't know one fish from the other! lol

Wooden Beams may help, yes!
Ear plugs are cheaper!

You are one sad, if a "fart" wakes you and you go on, and on and on!
And really can't resolve this, on your own!

You are humiliating your Husband, and He probably doesn't even know!
Shame on you!

LOL

Yes pathetic, as it is!
A major renovation versus a turd or two?
This must be a joke, right?
References :
insulate in the walls around the bathroom. Use spray in insulation since you have already built. I have my loud washer and dryer in my bathroom next to my son's bedroom so when I built my house I insulated between the walls around the bathroom and it works to keep the noise from escaping.
References :
Your question..made my day! LOL
I think all married women have the same feelings as YOU...
The sounds make you want to crawl down under the bed covers to the very end and never come out! LOL

Since you live in a damp climate....and the room is tiled ...how about installing a "heavy duty door" that has insulation inside it...it would help keep the noise down.

Other idea....install a radio that comes on as he enters the bathroom..and the volume drowns out his sounds...LOL

Best of luck...

How 2dull sounds in a bathroom without adding soft furnishings?
As I live in a tropical country all our bathrooms are tiled floor to ceiling & remain mostly wet, I can't add carpets or curtains. Also the ceiling is really high 12ft+- and EVERY little noise echoes so loudly when I'm in bed & hubby is there I can hear every little drip, drop & plop (it's en suite too) and it drives me NUTS! It reverberates around the room and I just don't wanna hear what is being emitted form what orifice...yeuch!!!
Suggestions please?
Hey Dory, OUCH! Biting, slap across my face with a wet kipper [or dory fillet] but point taken.
I'll opt for a properly sealed door I think as he always comes in late when I'm already asleep so many other suggestions wouldn't work.
I wondered if wooden beams would help absorb some sound?
